Who does what in an Insert MD program: the platform, the independent physicians, and the independent 503A pharmacies.

How an Insert MD program is structured

Insert MD (Rx Group LLC d/b/a Insert MD) is a technology and administrative platform for wellness businesses. Insert MD does not practice medicine, does not prescribe, does not dispense, and does not sell medication to anyone. Three separate parties are involved in every program, and each stays in its own lane:

Partner businesses (gyms, med spas, chiropractors, clinics) introduce the clients they already serve. Partner businesses do not purchase, hold, price, dispense, or resell medication. Patients pay Insert MD for program and visit fees; the pharmacy ships prescribed medication directly to the patient.

Clinical care: independent licensed physicians

Clinical care is provided by independent licensed physicians through our contracted, independently owned medical group. Each patient completes an intake and is evaluated via telehealth by a clinician licensed in the patient’s state. The clinician prescribes only when medically appropriate, sets the dose, and reviews each refill. No medication is dispensed without a valid, patient-specific prescription.

Program availability depends on the treating clinician’s license in the patient’s state and is confirmed at intake. See Service Area.

Dispensing: independent licensed 503A compounding pharmacies

Prescriptions written through the program are dispensed and shipped by one of the independent, state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies below. None is owned by or affiliated with Insert MD. The dispensing pharmacy is matched to the patient’s state; patients do not choose the pharmacy. A 503A pharmacy compounds medication for one patient at a time, on a prescription.

Quality & accreditation

PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board) is a voluntary accreditation for compounding pharmacies administered by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). Accreditation status can be checked in the ACHC accredited-organizations directory. Vios Compounding Pharmacy is listed there as PCAB accredited for sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous-drug compounding. The Pharmacy Hub states on its website that it compounds to USP <795> and handles hazardous drugs to USP <800>.

Quality testing of compounded medication (for example potency and, for sterile products, sterility) is performed by the dispensing pharmacy under its own written quality program, not by Insert MD. Insert MD does not test, handle, or store medication. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality.
